Structured cabling

Structured cabling represents the basis on which the entire computer and telephone network of a company is built. A well-constructed structured cabling determines a low degree of problems within the computer network. There are currently wireless network solutions, but they do not offer reliability.

THE EXECUTION OF THE STRUCTURED CABLE CONSISTS IN

• Choice and installation of passive and active equipment;

• Cable channel installation,
• UTP cable routing (CAT5, CAT6, CAT7);
• Installation of UTP or telephone sockets;
• Crimping / plugging of utp or ftp cable with RJ-45 connectors
• Crimping / plugging telephone cable with RJ-11 connectors
• Cable and connection testing;
• Installation of racks for equipment;
• Patch panel and patch cord installation;
• Reception of the work

WIRING SYSTEMS AND STANDARDS:

• This standard covers four areas:
• hysical transmission medium (twisted cable, coaxial, optical fibers);
• topology;
• terminators and connectors;
• administration.

1. HORIZONTAL WIRING

Horizontal cabling includes all the components from a communications outlet to the cabinet that is mounted on the wall, namely:

• socket mounted on the wall;
• horizontal cable;
• patch panel or cross-connect in the wiring closet.

2. VERTICAL WIRING (BLACKBONE):

Backbone – part of a network that acts as the primary path for traffic.

Cabling that provides the interconnections between wiring closets, wiring closets and POPs and between buildings that are part of the same network.
